Early Intervention Program
Windsor’s
Early intervention program, started in 2006, has now relocated to its own
offices at 1275 Walker Road. Based on the EPIC and PEPP models, this program
offers individualized psychiatric care, case management, family support, and
other resources available to patients through CMHA, a partner in the program.
The two year program is designed to promote insight into client’s illness,
regular medical monitoring, relapse prevention plans, goal setting, medication
education, and regular follow with staff. Clients are eligible is they are aged
14 – 34 years, have been exhibiting symptoms of psychosis of 2 years or less,
and their symptoms have been treated for 1 month or less. This is an
evidenced-based program which has been shown to improve outcomes in this
population. Residents are integrated with the treatment team, follow their own
patients and can participate in teaching and research.
