- A commitment of one trip per month for
four consecutive months is suggested to allow for a balance of consultation and follow-up
and continuity in community development

Nature of Experience:
- Outpatient consultation at Sault Area
Hospitals
- Consults in GPs offices and
community outreach
- Emphasis on physician education and
treatment management
- Case by case, resident sees patients
independently, focusing on general psychiatry and mental health consultation. Native
mental health and community consultation; collaboration and indirect consultation with the
on-site multi-disciplinary team
Patient Population:
- General psychiatry
- Mostly adults, but an interested resident
can arrange to see children and geriatric patients
Distance and Transportation:
- 690 Km from Toronto
- Direct flight leave Monday, return
Wednesday
Accommodation:
- A range of good quality hotels. Or, for a
month long stay, a pleasant apartment overlooking the river.
Population:
- 80,000 [plus 41,000 throughout Algoma
district] with 82.5% English speaking.
