General Adult Psychiatry at Riverview
Centre (30 bed Psychiatric Acute Care Unit of the Sault Area Hospitals) in Sault Ste.
Marie. Training opportunities are available in the following areas:
- Outpatient Rotation:
Residents will have exposure to a broad range of diagnosis. Inpatient and outpatient group
opportunities, cognitive-bahavioural therapy, long-term psychodynamic psychotherapy,
integrative psychotherapy, and family therapy.
- Inpatient Rotation:
Opportunity to to work in the assessment and management of patients with acute psychiatric
disorders as well as psychiatric emergencies in a team environment. Treatment includes,
phramaco-therapy, ECT, psychotherapies and strategies aimed at minimizing social
stressors.
