University Psychiatric Activities by City

Collaborating Ontario Medical Schools:	University of Toronto Psychiatric Outreach Program Coordinator: Dr. John Langley Two-day visits to Wawa began in July 1997. Visits to Wawa occur every other month. Currently there are bi-monthly three-day clinics held in Wawa. The North Algoma Health Organization and the Wawa Medical Clinic coordinate the visits. Dr. Langley regularly provides in-service presentations to the family doctors and allied health workers on a wide variety of psychiatric topics. In addition to office consultation and follow-ups, several hours during each visit are set aside for community outreach with Michelle Kallo, the mental health nurse in Wawa. Travel is done throughout the region doing home visits to clients with severe and persistent mental illness.
