Overview

Residents in the Department of Psychiatry at Western come from medical schools across the country, adding richness and diversity to the group. The size of the program allows individual attention and regular one-to-one contact between faculty and residents. The number of residents also facilitates cohesiveness.

Significant flexibility is offered in the selection of their rotations. The Department and its partner clinical facilities are committed to ensuring, in concert with the vision at Western, that our students have the optimum learning and training experiences with opportunities to engage in both clinical and biological research. Dedicated clinical teachers, clinical researchers, physicians, scientists, and basic scientists support these opportunities. Residents take a very active and substantive role in the continuous quality improvement of the program. Below is a list of some of the training facilities and clinical programs available for students.
